Domestic Violence Programs
WREF is committed to funding programs that aim to eradicate domestic violence. To this end, WREF applied for and received a grant from the Avon Foundation, under the Avon Empowerment Self-Sufficiency Program. Out of over 150 applications throughout the nation, WREF was one of 32 winners. WREF sub-contracted the grant to My Sisters' Place to run the program out of the Family Justice Center which is located in the White Plains Court Complex.
Under this grant, women who are victims of domestic violence are eligible for a variety of services providing them with guidance and assistance to create independent, violence-free lives.
